St Clements: a vibrant London setting

Located just a short DLR journey from Canary Wharf, the east London district of Bow is ideally positioned for getting to a number of other areas of the city quickly and easily. It’s also a few minutes from Victoria Park, one of the city’s oldest and largest parks, and a short walk to the Olympic Park. It’s this combination of city bustle and plentiful open spaces that make this property for sale in Bow a great place to call home.

Bow is also home to a good number of pubs, bars and restaurants. The Bow Bells pub is around 10 minutes’ walk from St Clements on the Bow Road, and is a popular destination for those looking for a relaxed spot to socialise. The Little Driver pub is just down the road, and is also somewhere great for meeting friends. For somewhere a little more eclectic, Satan’s Whiskers is a bar close to Bethnal Green tube station, that features some quirky decorations, vintage wall art and a great selection of cocktails. As well as the vast number of pubs offering food, there are also cafes and restaurants catering for all tastes and preferences, including a selection of vegetarian and vegan eateries.

What’s close to Bow?

Opened in 1845 and set over 86 hectares Victoria Park is one of London’s largest areas of green, open space. With lakes, tennis courts, two cafes and two pubs set within its grounds, it offers visitors a relaxed place to socialise with family and friends, while still being close to the city and all its bustle. And with a number of small festivals held within the park’s grounds throughout the year, it’s a great destination for any music fan.

Roman Road, which runs through Bow and nearby Bethnal Green, is one of East London’s most well-known high streets. It was the centre of radicalism and Suffragette activity during the 19th and 20th centuries, so its place in history is a fascinating one. Nowadays, it’s a hugely popular point of interest, not only for those looking to get back in touch with its history, but also for those shopping at the road’s now-famous markets. Held every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, there are a multitude of stalls specialising in food, clothing, fabrics and furniture. There is also a ‘Yard’ market, which alternates between designer-made and vintage goods.

Local Schools & Education

The area surrounding our property for sale in Bow features a variety of schools that come highly rated by Ofsted. Children’s House Nursery School is rated ‘Outstanding’ and is less than a mile from home. The ‘Outstanding’ Bonner Primary School, meanwhile, is just half a mile away. For children of secondary age Beatrice Tate School, located just a six minute walk away, is also rated ‘Outstanding’. For older students Newham Sixth Form College is a 15 minute drive away and is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted.

Transport and Travel

These flats for sale in Bow benefit from being surrounded by excellent rail and road networks. Mile End tube station is a 5 minute walk from St Clements and, with links on the Central, District and Hammersmith & City lines, allows for simple journeys to central, east and west London. Bow Road DLR station is also close to the development, and provides an easy way to get to destinations including Stratford, Canary Wharf and London City Airport in a short time.

For travel by car, the A12 and A13 can both be easily accessed from St Clements. The A12, which runs all the way from near Ipswich to the Blackwall Tunnel, passes through Bow, meaning The O2 in Greenwich, plus a great number of places in Essex, can be reached. The A13, which also services Essex, can be accessed from Bow, and will take you into the centre of the city quite easily.
