Cricket Club Bowled Over By Regional Developer's Sporting Sponsorship
11 Jun 2013

Howzat! Award-winning Linden Homes is continuing its support of sporting youngsters by stumping up cricket sponsorship cash in the region.

Budding Pietersens and Cooks are being given a sporting chance to develop their passion for cricket – thanks to an on-going sponsorship deal from the Peterborough-based developer.

The association between Linden Homes and the youth section of Oundle Town Cricket Club began in 2006.

Over the past seven years, hundreds of cricket shirts have been sponsored for the club, which have been proudly worn by cricket-mad youngsters in Oundle at training sessions and at the many home and away matches.

As a long-standing supporter of the club, which was established in 1826, Linden Homes has also helped to further the playing opportunities for many of the youngsters.

Linden Homes’ area sales manager Warren O’Callaghan said: “We are delighted to be able to offer this continued sponsorship to Oundle Town Cricket Club - not only in support of the local community, but to encourage and recognise young sporting talent and potential stars of the future.”

“The club currently sees around 150 five to nine year olds on a weekly basis for training, added to the 100 older children of 11-17 years of age who play in the seven junior league teams  - and the support from a relatively small town like Oundle is amazing - which makes it even more of a pleasure for Linden Homes to be involved.”

Club chariman Justin Jeffrey said: “The support for the club from local people, and our neighbours Oundle School – from which the club rents its ground on a long term basis - is phenomenal. We are thrilled to have continued generous support from Linden Homes which will allow the club to carry on its great work.”

Linden Homes has a long association with Oundle and the surrounding area, including the launch of its most recent development – Aspire in the village of Warmington. Work on the 25-home development is underway and interest in the Stamford Lane site is already beginning to gain momentum.
