Multi-tenure homes

Our communities are multi-tenure, meaning that we provide a mix of ownership models to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to call somewhere home.

The make-up of our communities can change throughout the lifecycle of the development, to reflect the changing needs of the neighbourhood.

Being multi-tenure means that some homes will be classed as ‘private’, where a customer owns them outright. They may choose to live in their home or to rent it out privately.

Some homes are shared ownership homes, where neighbours own a share of the property and pay rent to a housing association on the remaining part, often with the option to increase their share over time until they own the whole home. Shared ownership homes are a fantastic way for people to afford their own home or move up the property ladder.

Other homes are classed as affordable. Affordable homes include:

  • Homes purchased by a housing association or registered provider of social housing, providing additional and much needed affordable homes. They may be for rent or shared ownership.
  • Section 106 homes, which are affordable homes which must be built as part of planning consent. These homes will be protected and always remain as affordable homes. These will not be available for private sale.

Not every development will feature every type of home, but will always reflect the needs of the local community.
