Cricketers View, Linden Homes’ development in Hanham, has had a huge donation of over 300 football shirts thanks to Daniel Tanner and the Bath City Supporters Club.
Daniel and the rest of the club have been working with Kits 4 Causes for the past year, and when Linden Homes joined forces with the charity and created the Kit Up, Kit Out initiative, the club decided this was the perfect opportunity to handover there stockpile of shirts to the Cricketers View development.
The national campaign has received a staggering response and has collected thousands of football shirts for disadvantaged communities.
Kits 4 Causes will now distribute the clothing to community groups in the UK, designed to help tackle social issues, such as reducing truancy through social inclusion. Others will be sent to countries in Africa to help with projects which use sport to bring communities in conflict together.
With just six weeks to go until the start of the new football season and a summer of sport ahead, Linden Homes is hoping as many members of the local community as possible join them in making the campaign a huge success.
Linden Homes, sales and marketing director, Adrian Bird said: “The response to our calls for help from local people has been fantastic. The community really embraced the campaign and I’d like to thank them all for taking the time to dig out their old sports kits for such a worthwhile cause.
“As a leading national business we’re excited about helping such an inspirational organisation which shares the same philosophy of neighbourhood engagement that we are so passionate about ourselves.”
Linden Homes ran a prize draw for clothing donors taking part in the shirt amnesty to win a brand new sports shirt of their choice. Teams who donated have been entered into a national prize draw to win £1,000 towards new sporting equipment and the winners will be contacted directly.
