Pupils and parents got into the festive spirit as Deeping St James Community Primary School hosted its annual Christmas market.
The event featured fairground rides, festive stalls and games, while the winner of the raffle walked away with a £100 cash prize donated by local housebuilder Linden Homes.
There was also an opportunity for the children to visit Father Christmas in his grotto.
Becky Barrett, chair of the school’s parent-teacher association, which organised the Christmas market, said it was particularly important the event went ahead after being cancelled due to Covid last year.
She said: “It is absolutely crucial for the children to have some normality and we all know how much Christmas means to them. It was wonderful to see their faces light up when they saw Father Christmas and got to enjoy all the festive activities.
“The event is also a great opportunity to spread the word about our school and to show new starters that it is a fun place to be.
“We wanted to make this year’s Christmas market extra special and that’s one of the reasons we reached out to local businesses for their support. We’ve been delighted with the response and would like to say a big thank you to Linden Homes and the other businesses who donated towards the raffle.”
As well as gifting the top prize of £100, Linden Homes – which is part of Vistry Group and is currently building homes at its Springfields development in the village – also provided branded water bottles as prizes. Other raffle prizes included a day pass to Grimsthorpe Castle.
Weronika Maslak, Linden Homes sales manager for Springfields, said: “It was a privilege to support Deeping St James Community Primary School’s Christmas market. Events like this are a fantastic way for pupils and their parents to come together to celebrate the festive season and we hope everyone had an enjoyable afternoon.”
