Meteorologists are warning that we should brace ourselves for the coldest winter for sixty five years so it’s just as well that Finchampstead Football Club’s first team will be well prepared: This season they have training tops for their gruelling winter training sessions, courtesy of Linden Homes, which has donated £1000 for the extra kit.
Finchampstead FC, is a community club that serves the village and nearby towns such as Crowthorne and Wokingham. It has thirty teams, 400 players and two adult teams, both of which play in the Hellenic League. This popular club has achieved the FA Standard Charter Status and is a partner club of Reading FC.
Richard Laugharne is the club chairman:
“Our busy club needs about £85,000 every season to operate and finances are always tight so we are really grateful to Linden Homes for the very generous donation of £1000. We have decided to use the money for kit for our first team – specifically, training tops which will be extremely useful in the coming cold winter months. It means the squad can keep warm during training in pre match warm ups - whatever the weather is doing.”
