Help To Buy At Howden
01 May 2013

The newly launched, government-backed “Help to Buy” initiative is available to assist house hunters secure the last few remaining properties built by Linden Homes in Howden le Wear.

Only four homes remain at Howden Green, which offers traditional homes in a rural setting and is just 10 miles to the west of the City of Durham.  These include The Wear - a traditional four bedroom family home, with south facing garden and terrific countryside views.

All can be bought with Help to Buy, through which qualifying purchasers* need a deposit of  just 5% and take advantage of a 20% government equity loan that is interest free for the first five years and can be repaid at any time within 25 years.

This equity loan is effectively a second mortgage in the form of a lump sum.  So buyers provide the 5% deposit, secure a 75% mortgage and the remaining 20% of the purchase price is met through the government-backed scheme.

Help to Buy is available at all Linden Homes’ developments and applies to properties priced at up to £600,000.

The Wear is a two storey detached house, with garage, that has been designed in response to customer demand for traditional family homes at Howden Green.  The ground floor has been laid out with comfort, style and modern living in mind. The kitchen/family room boasts state of the art fittings and space in which to relax and enjoy the south facing garden and decking area, reached by French doors.

The spacious living room also offers views into the garden and there is a separate, more formal, dining room at the front of the house.

On the first floor the master bedroom comes complete with en-suite shower room, double wardrobes and the piece de resistance is the stunning view over the County Durham countryside.  There are two further double bedrooms - one with fitted robes - as well as a generous single bedroom and a family bathroom.

The other remaining house remaining at Howden Green is The Greta, a three storey, mews-style three bedroom home.  Using Help to Buy, the deposit needed to buy this family home could be as little as £7,250.

In addition to Help to Buy, Part Exchange and other incentive options are available to buyers.  For more information visit Howden Green, Howden-le-Wear, DL15 8BG, Thursdays to Mondays from 10:00am to 5:00pm or call on 01388 763 436.
