Move In To Next Year's Home At This Year's Price In Harlow
22 Nov 2017

Starting the process of moving house close to Christmas may seem like a daunting and unviable idea for homeowners. With presents to buy and busy social calendars, for many it’s not a feasible option.

However, in spite of the busy holiday season, the HMRC’s residential property transaction statistics revealed that in 2016, more homes were sold in December than in the previous eight months. At Edge, Linden Homes’ only Harlow development, the housebuilder is offering a range of financial incentives to help customers joining in on the seasonal trend, and hoping to be in their new home for the New Year.

Of an original 369 properties, only 11 two, three and four bedroom homes are left to sell at Edge, all of which are available with Linden Homes’ Help to Buy or Part Exchange schemes. With a Help to Buy equity loan, the government lends up to 20 percent of the cost of the new build property. The buyer will then require just a five percent cash deposit and a 75 percent mortgage to make up the rest.

Alternatively, the new builds at Edge can be bought via Part Exchange, ready to move into immediately once Linden has taken the buyer’s previous home off the market. Roseanne Bullen, sales and marketing manager at Linden Homes Eastern, commented:

“With very little time left to spare before the holidays, we’re advising prospective buyers to act now if they want to beat the January blues and mark the start of a new year in their new home.

“Part of the delay of moving house can be caused by a buyer chain if you’re moving into a second hand home, or insufficient funds for a deposit, but our incentives at Edge are designed to counter delays by minimising time and financial constraints.

“What’s more, Edge is just a 12 minute drive from the Harvey Centre in Harlow, so residents will have the New Year’s sales within easy reach should they decide to make a purchase.”

One of the remaining homes at Edge is The Moore, a four-bedroom semi-detached house with its own garage and an open plan kitchen, dining and family area.
