New Ways Of Buying A Home During Social Distancing
20 Apr 2020

While the UK gets used to partial lock down and new ways of conducting daily life – one developer is promoting the idea of virtual visits when it comes to meeting the needs of home hunters.

Even though its developments, show homes and sales offices are closed, Linden Homes Midlands (part of Vistry Group) continues to stay ‘open for business’ for house buyers who are in the process of purchasing a new home and for those who have moving on their mind.

The company is continuing its communication with the many customers who are currently on the house buying journey, and have introduced new steps and advice when it comes to meetings between them and their sales teams.

Linden Homes Midlands sales and marketing director Nicky Chapman said: “It is paramount at this time that we all follow the Government guidelines on social distancing and to stay at home – with the health and safety of our customers and our employees our first priority.”

“While we are not able to operate the ‘business and usual’ policy in its strictest sense, we want to assure customers – existing and new –that we are still very much open for business and here to talk to them about their current journey or to give them vital information they need to start or move forward with a purchase.

“While technology cannot replace the physical face to face meeting, our sales teams are fully briefed on what, at this moment in time, is the next best thing – a virtual meeting.”

Seven customer benefits of virtual visits, whether Skype, WhatsApp, full video or teleconferencing:

  1. No travel time: you can attend from where you are already – most likely the comfort of your own home.
  2. No travel costs or traffic issue which could make you late for an appointment.
  3. It’s easy for sales staff to share their desktop with customers for on screen demonstrations.
  4. Customers can feel connected and see sales staff face to face.
  5. They are eco-friendly when it comes to sharing documents - transferring documents via email rather than paper.
  6. You can video record a meeting for others to watch if they could not attend.
  7. Family-friendly – with the children at home, they can be part of any virtual show home tours and be encouraged to be a part of the journey.

Linden Homes latest Coronavirus update:

While our sites and sales offices are closed, we will stay ‘open for business’ and customers and clients will still be able to contact our teams on the phone and online.

We will also continue to look to support our supply chain partners during this challenging period and will remain in close communication with them.

Our thoughts remain with all those personally impacted by the outbreak, and the safety, health and wellbeing of our customers, our people and our subcontractors is the top priority.
