With the temperature falling and electricity and gas prices rising, energy bills have become a big concern for UK households this winter.
Many people don’t realise that new homes can cost up to 55 per cent less to heat than older properties. So, with electricity and gas prices expected to double over the next five years, buying a new home makes better financial sense than ever.
Linden Homes, which has built the Impact development in Midsomer Norton, recognises the impact energy performance has on household bills. That’s why it uses building materials that provide great insulation – to ensure its new homes are warm in winter and cool in summer.
Sue Scholfield, Sales Director at Linden Homes Western, explains: “Modern building methods ensure that new homes are more energy efficient – resulting in lower bills. And, at Linden Homes, we use high levels of insulation, double glazing and energy efficient appliances to help control running costs for our homebuyers.”
This week the National House-Building Council (NHBC) released figures showing that a new 4-bed detached new home can cost around £1,300 less to heat a year than an older Victorian-type property of the same size.¡
At the latest phase of Impact, which offers a stylish mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, two-bedroom apartments and with Help to Buy*.
“With our range of flexible moving schemes to help you get on, or up the property ladder, there’s never been a better time to talk to us about moving to one of our energy-efficient new homes,” added Sue.
