We'd love to see you over the holiday period. To avoid disappointment, please see each of our developments for their specific opening times. Normal opening hours will resume on 3rd January.
COMMUNITY-MINDED youngster Kiera Walker is taking part in a regional project aimed at banishing the summer holiday blues, while looking after the local environment.
The caring 10-year-old, who lives with her family at Linden Homes’ Renaissance development in New Waltham, has joined forces with her friend Ella Restall to support the Lifestyle Challenge.
The initiative, which was started by Humberside Police, is entering its 25th year. The objective is to increase the amount of positive contact between the police and young people, as well as encouraging them to get involved with community projects on their doorstep.
Kiera and Ella will be rising to the challenge, and spending part of their summer holiday weeding the paths around the development and picking up any litter under the team name of W.E.R.K 2gether.
Prizes for the best Lifestyle Challenge project will be awarded by the Force when the results are judged later in the year.
Kiera’s mum Debbie said: “She and her friend have decided between them that this is something they want to do, and I’m very proud of them both.”
Linden Homes sales executive at Renaissance, Vanessa Allison said: “This is a fantastic thing for Kiera and Ella to do, and to be so community-spirited at such a young age is really admirable.”
