Josh, a transport co-ordinator, and Lucy, a senior care assistant, were amongst the first to move into Ferriby Fields, a new development by Linden Homes in Scartho Top. Here they explain how they did it.
“We moved from Rothwell in Market Rasen last April and straight into our new three-bed home at Ferriby Fields. Lucy was pregnant with our daughter Florence at the time, so we were keen to make it as stress-free as possible, and thanks to Linden, it was a fairly seamless experience all-round.
“We were in a rented property previously and had viewed a number of different properties over a two month period before visiting Ferriby Fields. I can honestly say that we learnt more in the thirty minutes we had with Stuart, the Linden sales consultant, than we had the entire time we’d been looking elsewhere.
“We bought a 43% share of our home through Linden’s shared ownership scheme*, which meant we were able to afford a much more spacious home than we would have been able to otherwise - and we can increase our share in the property over time. We wanted a place that was ours, but still wanted to live a nice lifestyle, and shared ownership meant we could move into a brand new home as though we had bought it outright.
“We can’t wait to see how the community comes to life around us. We were one of the first to move onto the development back in April, and then in August, Florence was born and she became one of the first babies to live here. We’ve watched it all being built from scratch and have been here to welcome our new neighbours in - it’s all been really exciting to be part of it.
“One of the many reasons we chose Ferriby Fields is because there’s a brand new school being built here, which will be ideal for Florence, and it’s really comforting to know it will meet our family’s needs for years to come.
“We love how warm and cosy our house is. It’s south facing, which is great for sunshine, and the house lets lots of natural light in, but it’s also really well insulated. Energy efficiency was really important to us and our property is a band B, which is one of the best. It’s even got Air Source Heat Pumps, which we’d never used before, but the app features make it easier and the money we’re saving makes a big difference.
“We’ve settled in so well and would like to give a huge thanks to Stuart and Sam at Linden. Their hard work, communication and efforts to make us feel welcome have made the experience for us. They’re a credit to Linden and we couldn’t be happier in a home that’s fit for our family, and our future.”
