The local areas of Darwen and Blackburn have plenty to offer with a great mix of countryside attractions, activities, eateries and nightlife.

If you're looking for somewhere to escape on a weekend, you'll find Polyphemus Woods, a Woodland Trust area, just over a five-minute drive away. With 15,000 trees, a small pond and a network of paths, it's a lovely space to explore with the family on a weekend. Other nearby Woodland Trust sites include Sunnyhurst Wood, E Wood Park and Whitehall Park.

On the borders of Cooper Fields housing development sits Square Meadow Community Sports Field and Coffee Bar, providing a great area for a range of sporting activities.

If you're travelling by train, you'll find Blackburn train station just two miles away, connecting you to locations such as Preston, Bolton, Manchester, Rochdale, Leeds and York. London Euston can be reached within two-and-a-half hours, via a transfer at Preston.
