One of the UK’s most diverse counties, West Sussex is best renowned for its quaint villages, vast open spaces, and stunning coastline - and as you travel across West Sussex's beautiful countryside you'll soon discover why. West Sussex has just one city, Chichester, which is also its county town. The city is the hub for several main road routes, and also has a railway station, hospital, and many schools catering for all ages. Other notable towns include Worthing, Crawley, Horsham, East Grinstead, and the popular seaside resort, Bognor Regis. Wherever you decide to buy a new home in West Sussex, you’re sure to fall in love with everything this wonderful county has to offer.

Getting in, around and out of West Sussex

West Sussex benefits from excellent travel links, with the city of Chichester easily reachable via the M27 and A27 which links Hampshire, Kent, and Sussex. The A29 and A24 connect Chichester to London and mid-Sussex, and the A3 connects Chichester and much of the West Sussex area with the capital. The M25 connects most routes from the West.

If travelling by rail, the Southern Railway network offers extensive coverage of West Sussex, including many of the county’s coastal destinations and the South Downs. Trains also run to London Victoria from Worthing and Chichester, with journeys taking around an hour and 15 minutes and an hour and a half respectively. Within West Sussex, the West Coastway Line service covers 17 stations along West Sussex’s south coast and also connects the county with Brighton to the East and Southampton to the West.

Travelling by air, the three main airports serving West Sussex are Gatwick, Southampton and Heathrow, all of which are accessible by road or designated bus services running regularly from the county's main towns.
